Yes, Virginia, There Is a #WhiteCulture

⚪️

White culture is any cultural tradition practiced by ethnically European people. European people share an over arching theme to their culture the same way Asian or African people do. For example, all European people share a root language, an ancestry, a similar religious background (both pagan and Christian), similar holidays, seasonal observations, food, ethnic dress, etc.

⚪️

⚪️

So, for example, Christmas traditions, whether you’re in Poland, Australia, New Jersey or Spain are going to be very similar whereas you won’t find anything like Christmas in the native Asian or African populations. Those Asians and Africans that celebrate Christmas have adopted it from a European culture.

⚪️

⚪️

Similarly Asian people, whether they be in San Francisco, Japan, or China also share a root language, similar faith, similar holidays, seasonal observations, family traditions, values, etc. The same can be said of Arab culture, Black/Africa culture, etc.

⚪️

Within racial groups our cultures are more similar to each other than they are to other peoples. So Poland and England have more similarities than Poland and China for example. There’s an over arching theme.

⚪️

⚪️

⚪️

⚪️

If you think about it we don’t question this over arching cultural theme for any other population. We accept the Black history museum. We don’t say “Well, you can have a Zimbabwe museum or a Congo museum but not a black museum. ” We accept the concept of “Asian art.” We don’t say, “Well, you can have Japanese art or Thai art but there is no Asian art.”

⚪️

Some people don’t like the idea of saying “white” culture because “white” is so often used as a pejorative such as “white trash” or “white power.” My use of “white culture” was an attempt to reclaim the term for the positive. You can read more about that here

⚪️

People who hate whites have no problem defining who is white and what is white culture.

⚪️

⚪️

The term “white” is only questioned and ridiculed when someone tries to use it positively such as saying white people do have a culture or that whites have (and do) contribute to American society positively. If you truly want diversity, all cultures on earth, all of God’s children, must be loved and treasured, including the whites ones.

⚪️

Whether you say white culture, western culture, or European culture -it is the same- it is the culture of ethnically European peoples and it is morally wrong to deny one race the promotion and adoration of their heritage and culture in particular.

⚪️

***update***

A rebuttal to common arguments.

⚪️

We say black culture because blacks were slaves who don’t know exactly where they come from and hence can’t celebrate their distinct culture.

⚪️

False.

 1. Most whites don’t know their family background anymore than blacks do. 2. DNA tests are now available to anyone. 3. Whites (indeed all races) have been enslaved, all across the world at various times. The word slavery comes from the word “Slav” which comes from the time that African moors raped and enslaved half the population of Europe (which lasted 1000 years). Also your argument only applies to black Americans yet we accept that black culture exists for Africans too we also accept the concepts of Jewish culture, Arab culture, Asian culture, etc. Asian people weren’t brought here as slaves yet we still allow them to have Asian culture.

Polynesian islands each have a distinct culture yet we still have a Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii. They were also never slaves. Their individual cultures are all still intact yet we allow them the overarching cultural theme that is allowed every single race except for white Europeans

  1. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. You want people to receive your “white culture” delivery as not racist, but dispersed between your #whiteculture and #tradlife content are littered posts containing such “OMG I AM *SO* NOT RACIST” statements such as “WE WUZ KANGS!” and meme’s juxtaposing low-class minorities against high-class white people in attempts to generalize their culture in the same ways you don’t want yours generalized. I find that impossible to respect. Context matters and you are leaving out a significant part of the context of your content.

When I first discovered you on Twitter I gave you the benefit of the doubt in my mind. I watched several of your videos and considered someone else’s perspective. I might have even learned a few things. I didn’t at first see the racism. As I have continued to follow you though, I have seen you display it more openly and directly, and your conspiracy theories and generalizations about others are socially irresponsible.

Very disappointing and upsetting, is the nicest way I can put it. I will not shame myself by stating my feelings in a more direct way. You don’t have to be “trad life” to remain a lady.

    • Are all cultures equal ? What about ancient cultures that believe in child sacrifice; or female genital mutilation ? Are those cultures equal to other cultures ? Is this a fair question to be discussed and considered, or is it too “upsetting” ? Aside from expressing your feelings about the author’s (unpopular) hypothesis that there is such a thing as white culture, do you agree or disagree with that hypothesis – and why ? Is it possible to have an honest discussion about race and culture without you seeing the “racism” in things ? I wonder why so many people cannot freely (and frankly) discuss race and culture ? Do you think (just perhaps) that we have been programmed to deny the existence of racial and cultural differences, or programmed to insist on their equality ? (Forgive me, in advance, if these questions are upsetting or disgusting.)

      • I was answering to the reason why she is being called a racist when she seems to be painting a picture of innocent support for white culture *without* degrading others. She does, in fact, degrade others. If she was genuine in saying that her use of “white culture” was nothing but “an attempt to reclaim the term for the positive”, the white culture posts would stand on their own. Instead, they are presented alongside the same kind of racist, mocking statements she purports to be a victim of.

      • Are all cultures equal ? If not, how can the “degradation” of one or both cultures be avoided ? I degrade cultures that engage in child sacrifice or female genital mutilation. Or cultures that claim superiority unsupported by history or facts. Why is that so upsetting ?

  2. Not all European languages have the same root/origin. Most, not all, white Americans can find the European heritage by looking at census forms (which have country of origin) or from boat passenger records, which go way back. Since people being brought over as slaves were cargo, they were individually recorded by name on passenger maifestos, no were their names or place of birth requested on a census. The moorish conquest of Europe was about 700 years and they let Christians and Jews worship (they usually had to pay higher taxes). The pagan belief background you speak of was also shared across Asia (the Middle East). The shared religions are Catholicism, Lutheranism, Anglican some smaller sects of Christianity) and Judaism. You however are not practicing a religion that originated in European. As far as shared food, what countries in Europe have you been to? Cultural dress and cuisine (even alcohol) is quite different from northern to Southern Europe. Parts of southern cuisine are actually more culturally Middle Eastern due to similar climates and access to a similar body of water. That’s fine if you want to celebrate the culture of wherever you can trace your ancestors to, but please stop using sweeping generalizations and lumping all of Europe into one- it’s offensive and really denies the history and culture of a lot of people from Europe.

  3. I am a Great Granddaughter of a Utah Pioneer, old school pre-railroad. I love our heritage. My children are tan, and they deserve that heritage as much as your blonde children, and I hope you will one day realize that you can not be Christian and believe what you do about different races. My kid’s dad was born here too, and he and everyone else deserve the freedom and liberty promised by our founding fathers. There are plenty of screenshots memorialized forever of what you have really said. I hope and pray our church leaders will do the right thing.

My parents are a Utah-Pioneer-Mormon descendant and a Chinese refugee from the Communist revolution. You don’t want mere equality, and what you want is superiority for your own children. I’ve seen it from the inside. One important purpose of being a mom is to give children a sense of self-worth and value. I get it. I don’t blame you for thinking your kids are better for irrational reasons. But attacking someone just because they are white, and have white babies, and think there should be a future for them, IS RACIST.

If you do not see how white people are having their future materially damaged by the clownish behavior of the current power elites, and people like you, then you are simply uneducated, or more probably, just biased toward the ‘race’ of your own kids. Get some self-awareness already. Sheesh.

There should be more gratitude for those who built this civilization. And you cannot be grateful if you are busy hating people just because they don’t have tan babies. You are a racist. Stop ruining the church with your racism. Stop ruining this country with your racism. It makes me sick.

You are digging a pit for Purposeful Wife, and, by God, I hope you fall into it yourself.

  4. Rose, I see the problem in the focus on color. As in what is “white” culture? Swedish? German? Irish? Hispanic? And what is “black” culture? African? Jamaican? Haitian? If the focus is on a color, in my view it makes it racist. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry last thought…if her “white baby challenge” had been a “traditional early American culture challenge” maybe it would have been different. If she believes I have to make white babies to preserve my “white culture,” that is in fact white supremacy. My tan kids are learning all about all of their cultures…on both sides. British, Scottish, Swedish, Irish, early Mormon Pioneer, and Samoan. Thy don’t have to be white to do that.

    • Good point Kristen P. My white culture comes from all over the European map. My people come from Scandinavia, Germany, Scotland, France, Ireland, Greece and Italy. I have Catholic, Jewish and Orthodox blood running in my veins (I am now a Unitarian). The first of my ancestors came post-Civil War from Bohemia, which is now the Czech Republic.

I am a redhead with pale skin and piercing blue eyes and I have a Jewish surname. I went to an all-woman’s college founded by the very Roman Catholic School Sisters of St. Francis. I make latkes, tacos, pasta, and fried chicken. I do yoga and bellydance for exercise. I watched both Little House on the Prairie and Soul Train as a kid. I’m a total Francophile who has a thing for Jewish and Asian men.

My best friend is both of Japanese and Portuguese descent. My alma mater has one of the highest minority rates in Milwaukee. I date younger men, have no kids and sound like Lauren Bacall in To Have and Have Not (or so I’ve been told).

I’m a total feminist who loves the domesticity and fashion. I love Martha Stewart and have worked in the fashion industry.

And I think the Palins and the Trumps are the biggest thugs on the planet.

Calling it ‘white supremacy’ when people want to have white babies is idiotic. It’s like me calling you a Kristen P supremacist for wanting to have Kristen P babies. What other kind of babies are two white people going to have other than white babies? You pretend that you don’t focus on color, until trotting out your “tan kids” helps you get away with calling someone else racist. It’s absurd,

Anyway, all you need to do is sincerely apologize to Ayla for bullying her. Unfortunately you don’t seem to have the ability to consider your own intolerance, because in your world that’s just a problem other people have.

  5. So sorry my posts on Facebook hit home, although they most certainly weren’t threatening or abusive. And yep I kept screen shots. I’m so sad that you joined our church only to make it seem it supports things it does not. I care because of the legacy my direct ancestors left us. And you can’t ruin it. The pride you must have to challenge the first presidency to say it to your face. We are all praying for everyone in the world right now, yes even you.

  6. Apologizing for my hurtful sentence about my ancestors. I’m just so sad that my kids have to hear about this hate inside the church they love. They don’t deserve to feel less than anyone else, and that’s how views like yours make them feel. I wish you would encourage conversations with all, not just seemingly those who agree with you and most of them are blatantly racist.

You are blatantly racist. Stop it. I feel so sorry for your kids because you are teaching them to resent white people and feel entitled from an irrational basis. That never leads anywhere good. For the sake of your own children, who probably look more like me than they do like you, I hope you repent. Stop being so racist.

      • I keep reading your message to try to make sense of it. Sorry but I’m still confused. My children are being taught to love everyone and be kind to all, and to help where they can, as do I. I don’t know why you decided to rant against me, but I’m sorry for whatever I said that you took offense to. And if you were being sarcastic and trying to prove a point similar to mine, bravo, and thank you?

  7. And nobody needs to wonder why churches are half empty except for Christmas and Easter! This is horrible stuff.. Why would anyone sign up to be drenched with this nasty, anti intellectual stuff? You don’t need any other religion in life but the one who teaches adherence to the GOLDEN RULE..

Last time I checked, the GOLDEN RULE would probably mean you don’t post what you just posted. Seriously, you should at least try not to be so hypocritical.

For the record, I’m not being sarcastic. When you use “racism” against others, you’d better be sure you are not being hypocritical. And I think you are being hypocritical based on my experience as a half-white, half-Chinese person. “Racist” is probably too kind a word for you. You might have no principles at all other than sucking up to the powerful. You speak about how kind you are to all, you say you’re not abusive or threatening, you are hard pressed to understand why anyone would take any offense from what you say, and yet you are mean, abusive, threatening and offensive at the same time as claiming you are not. Like I said, a little self-awareness would be in order here. You are a bully.

  9. Hi Ayla!
I just discovered your wonderful site because of the hatred on the left.
It was the article in the Salt Lake Tribune.
(Yes, I know. The “left” and “alt-left” does not hate, and are not racists… … etc 😉

I really love the image on your “About” page, the mother and her newborn.

Would it be possible for you to tell me where I might find it?
I have tried Google and, of course, Pinterest, but there are just too many images.

    Thanks!
    🙂
