#TradLife Dollies Carry On a European Tradition

If you’ve followed me for any length of time you’ll know I’m passionate about natural, simple toys for children that inspire them toward TradLife and while toys like Barbie have a place and purpose I much prefer old fashion toys, ones Laura Ingallls might have played with on the prairie – toys that were handmade with love and craftmanship.

European doll making is still popular in the Waldorf educational community and I’m always hoping that this tradition will grow and expand to retain a special part of our culture. Cloth European dolls are simple in form and allow a to child to play creatively and fully exercise their imagination. Soft limbs provide ease of posture and flexibility.  European dolls can be simple and made from something such as a cloth hankie with knots for limbs, especially good for babies and quiet play times, or they can be more detailed with elaborate dress. Simple stitches, neutral colors, and sweet expressions really make European dolls unique.

So I was thrilled to find out about this website which sells handmade, cloth, dolls very much in the European tradition and they are based on #TradLife! They are so adorable I just had to share. This isn’t a product placement, I’m not getting paid for this, I just honestly love these dollies.  I hope they inspire you! ❤️
