I found this image online. I don’t know who this man is, I could only find that he is a convert to the Amish faith and hence, unlike probably any other Amish person you’ll ever meet, he has a tattoo. I have a love hate relationship with tattoos, while they can be beautiful when well done, they can look horrendous when poorly done but my favorite tattoo I think is the one washed away by baptism. You can still see it, the mark of his life before Jesus, but it’s not really there. That tattoo and the man who got it one day, long ago, no longer stand before you. Instead stands a new creation, made in the image of Jesus Christ.

Socialized medicine and government overreach has become headline news in the story of little Charlie Gard. Now President Trump and the Pope have weighed in, publicly supporting Charlie and his family.

“On Thursday President Donald Trump tweeted out his support for terminally ill British baby Charlie Gard. The US President said the United States “would be delighted” to help little Charlie Gard get the treatment he needs. Members of the Trump administration have spoken with family members of terminally ill British baby Charlie Gard. Pope Francis also called for the parents of the baby to be allowed to ‘accompany and treat their child until the end’.”

Charlie’s battle has drawn in millions around the world who wait anxiously for updates as the little boy’s parents battle for their right to treat his rare condition in the US where other children with the same condition, have survived, the Daily Mail reports…

“Charlie, who suffers from a rare genetic condition and has brain damage, is being cared for at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London. The little boy has been at the centre of a lengthy legal battle between his parents, who wanted him to undergo a therapy trial in the US, and specialists at the hospital who said the treatment was experimental and would not help.

 Charlie’s plight has touched many people and the family received donations totalling more than £1.3million to take him to the US for therapy. His parents’ desire to take him to the US has have been blocked by the High Court, Appeal Court, Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights, which backed Great Ormond Street doctors who say he has no hope and should be allowed to die.”
